Talking Project Go ManGo Nearing Completion

Some of you may remember but I posted a poll on what color to paint my Cherokee and the winner by a slim margin was Go ManGo. It is the burnt orange color you see on the new Daytona/Hemi Chargers and the Daytona/Hemi Dodge Trucks. Here are the 'in-process' pictures with pictures of the paint coming soon (it is painted now but I forgot my camera when I saw it...)

Before it went to paint:

During Paint:

In primer, blocked and ready for paint:

I'll post pics with the paint on it soon.

Brent

That color is pretty cool. I can't wait to see it.

I think I'm going with the Salsa Red Pearl Coat they put on the 2002 Libertys.

Did you have it down to the metal? What did you use to prep the bare metal?

I kinda like the gray primer look as a second choice. But alas I'm prolly the last ol'fart on earth that still thinks 'flat black with flames' is the only color for special projects.

edit: thought I'd throw in an 'atta boy' Brent. Nice work you've done there even though your color choice is way wrong. Nice job regardless!

I'm not old either and I agree with you. It ALMOST stayed flat black but my painter buddy owed me money soooooo... well you know the rest. Going that route would have been a helluva lot cheaper as the paint color (not including the clear or the reducers or the primers, etc) came to $600 per gallon.. OUCH!! Thankfully it only took one gallon.

Some of it went to bare metal but not all of it, I didn't have an unlimited amount of $$ to spend. The parts that did he probabnly sprayed with self etching primer or something similar I guess ( <----- I am not a body guy)

Since it has been primered for 4 years, I am sure you'll be jazzed to have the new shiney Mango on it Brent. Good Luck and show some of that Mango off soon!

Brent, I was thinking about that color myself just last week until you said how much it cost! Back to the primary color chip pages for me. Your rig is going to look awsome!

Brent,
That looks great! I love the color; but I might be a little biased. Show us more, what engine/driveline are you going to put in? I like it a lot!
