A 71 TSM will be a Kaiser (J-series only) printed manual(SM-1042) covering up to 71 but not the AMC motors. AMC didn't print their own Jeep manual(included all Jeeps) till 72 but they did print a thin supplement in Jan 71 that covers the 258/304/360 motors. "J-Series Service Manual Supplement. Supplement to SM-1042"
So a 71 Kaiser manual will work for the rest of a 72 J-series but just won't include the motors used in 72. Both the last era of the Kaiser manual and the AMC supplement are pretty common on ebay where as the 72 AMC book is harder to find but they're out there.

edit:
Ok, I just reread you post and take what I said above backasswards. I thought you had a 72 truck and 71 manual. In your case the 72 manual will work for the 71 truck, trans, tcase but the 72 AMC manual will not cover the Buick motor. The BUick was dropped officially in 71 but they were a special order item in 72 I suppose till the supply ran out and there are a few out there. But again the 72 AMC manual won't cover it.

Cabz, on a side note if you have or get a "very nice original" 72 AMC TSM(mines getting worn) I'd be willing to trade you a "very nice original" Kaiser J-Series manual(print date Aug 71) that covers your truck exactly.
But as I said above an original(not a copy) for your truck is common on ebay. Just make real sure on the bottom center of the front cover it has number SM-1042 on it. Any earlier numbers like SM-1019, SM-1019R or so won't cover the Buick.
PM me if you're interested.

There's a '72 manual online at www.c104.net which could help in the nonce. Slow link, but the chapters will download if you are patient.
