dana 60 six lug?

i want a d60 for when my 44 dies, but iam going to keep my front 44, probably go up to 35, but can i convert a rear 60 to 6 lug?

I believe this can be done, although I would most probably switch over to disk brakes for D60 at the same time if possible - 6 bolt.

as long as it is a full-floater dana 60, you can get conversion hubs from dynatrac, and other similar companies. I would also recommend the disc brake conversion at the same time.

oh, itll get discs, i got discs on my rear 44 now and dont know how i ever lived without them.

might be a better pick if you are only going 35's to run the GM 9.5 inch 14 bolt... they are very common in 6-lug semi-floaters, and will leave you a hair more ground clearance than the 60.... and a dime a dozen, also..

just a thought..

really? didn't know bout them. but here's a question, is it worth the work, and time and money and ground clearance for a semi floater? i dont know thats why i asked.

if you are talking 35's, it might be a while before it is even an issue with the 44, depending on your typical level of skinny pedal...

the 9.5 14 bolt is in lots of later chevy 3/4 ton SRW trucks... and they were built as 6 and 8 lug axles...

i guess worth it depends on the likelihood of you going even bigger later...
