just got my new/used headliner--two quick questions

Another member (thanks Brian) sold me a headliner in great shape for my JTruck.
Got it today.
It's got no cloth like mine, it's clean, tan vinyl that is adhered great to the cardborad shell.
1)For something with this hard form, would a good 3M (or other) spray adhesive be overkill?
2)Got this wild thought to paint it black. Reccomend a good TYPE of paint that would cling to vinyl with decent results?

Thanks, Brent

I would use DupliColor vinyl/fabric paint. I've heard very good things about it, and I just used some on my door panels. It doesn't flake of when flexed and it dries fast and smooth.

3M spray adheasives work very well.

Found a similar paint at NAPA, thanks.
Never knew these vinyl shells existed.
Now wondering if I'm over-thinking things: is there a headliner "gasket" or damper?

I like the SEM vinyl paint, use thier plastic prep and there is no problem with flakeing.
