I did this to my 727 quite a few years ago and I just went by trial and error. If I remember correctly I connected two of the wires together and grounded the third to the frame. Took a couple tries to get it right but after that worked great.

Joe, it was a question, but since most people in the offroad tech section don't venture much into general, I figured I'd post here with a link to the thread, that's all.

All solved at this point. I was using a solenoid with a single trigger post (it was grounded through the frame) so I was automatically thinking about two conducting wires to interrupt the 12V switched voltage, instead of lifting the ground like the switch does...
