well I finally finished the Q/T shifter change over,,
I really didnt like the lil "flag" lever under the seat ..so I wanted to figure out how to change it to a better system ,,
the shifter I picked was a stock Ford automatic style, u know that ugly "T" handle one,,,,lol...first I cut the T handle off,,, then I cut the teeth used to CLICK it into gears ...so it would just slide easily from front to rear .. I then mounted it on the Hump ,,,close to the seat and near the stock level , also trimmed the bracket the stock linkage hooked to the T/c for more clearance,,, extended the shifter rod and the linkage road,
thats basicly all I did ,,and topped it off with a Hurst shifter handle and a rubber shifter boot of ( i think) a Pontiac Sunburst....
I will pop on some pictures after My Turkey dinner .......lol

Now make up an easy solution to the vacuum shifter you can sell as a kit, and you will be a QT god.
Nice work.

i moved my switch from the glove box to under the dash, i used the 2x4 switch from an 83 wag and ran the vac lines to it.it is alot better than in the glovebox. still want to get away from the vac setup though.

yeah it sounded funny, on the road you would never think it came from a big jeep but more from an old lady's able walker
