A 6cyl 401 that is.My nieghbor has a 1980 Ford 8000. One big tractor. Anyway, last fall, the motor developed a small knock. Well he parked it in his barn figuring he'd fix it come spring time. Well he got a good deal on a new one, and just wanted to get rid of it. Well, I got it for $1000. He paid $8000 just a year ago. I know that the 4 good tires and rims are close to what I paid. It is a 100+ horse diesel. Everything works, including the radio! He had the hydraulics and clutch and PTO rebuilt, and put a new starter on. I mean, the thing is spotless. Even if I spend $1000-1500 on a rebuilt kit, I still sell it for over $9000. I just rebuilt my tractor, so Im somewhat familiar with this one. I think I did good. Dennis

He said he thought it was an 80, I checked the serial number and it's a 76, the last year they made the 8000. It's got a 6cly 401!
