Well it has come time to swap out the 2.73s. I am planning on doing a spring over in front and a shackle flip kit in the rear. Then I will be running 33 12.50s. So the 2.73s will not cut it. I am torn between 4.10s or 3.73. I will be mostly street driving but still offroading. I am looking for feed back of what other people have done. Thanks.
Steve

You'll probably want 3.73s...4.10s may put your rpms a bit high for the highway. Which motor do you have? If it's the 360 then I'd go 3.73, it should have plenty of power with those gears.

if you go above 3.73's, your front carrier will have be be changed out in the D44... the AMC20 should be ok I believe.
I think a 3.73 will be good enuf for you.... though I personally would go a bit higher like a 3.92 setup....

3.73 is perfect for regular use and 33" tires. You will get good highway RPMs without sacrificing power.

good choice.... it'll save you some money on the carriers.... you'll be pleased with the increased response and gains... they will be quite noticeable.
I wasnt sure which FSJ you were referring to ( looking at your sig) that is why I mentioned the AMC20 rear ..

I have 3.73's with 31's on my '85 right now. It's a bit too much. When I get the lift on, I'll put on some 33's and that should get me right back to where I want to be.
Oh, and if you want to do some side-by-side comparisons, check out my gear ratio calculator.
