anybody make floorpan replacments?

does anybody make floorpan replacements?i need some for one of my cherokkes,if not whats the best fix?

No one makes any repair/replacement panels that I know of. Your best bet is to get some 22 gauge sheet metal and weld in your own panels.

Take the time to do the prep work, cut out the rusted areas, and mig-weld new panels in place. After that, I'd coat the new panels with POR-15, or Durabak, to keep the problem from happening again.

Is 22 guage sheetmetal thick enough?? I gotta do the same thing for my 71 and was sondering what size metal to use.

22 guage seems a little thin but proably easier to work with. I had the cab off my J20 so it was easy for me to bolt on 1/8 aluminum over the holes using small bolts. I then coated it all over with fibered roof coating. Turned out real nice.

I plan on having my cab off also and was planning on sandblasting the entire cab inside and out. I have a mig welder and was thinking more along the 16 guage size. Is that too thick for floorpans??

16 gauge will work very well. I have used 18 gauge, but I like 16 better. It's a little harder to form up, but sturdier.

The best material for Jeep floor pans is old chevy hoods. They are cheap and easy to find.

I've been cutting rust from my wifes GW floors and rockers. I took a piece of the floor to the local metal shop and he mic'ed it out as being 16 gauge. It's a bit tough to shape, hard on cut-off blades, but it's solid. Fred Flintstone always comes to mind when I think of the Ch*vy hood solution.

Send that floor pan info, I mean I teach welding, I have a ton of 16 gauge laying around, I even have a CNC plama cutter and I still would rather have an exact fit floor panel(s). Thanks

You might check out body shops that work on street rods.... thats where i got some made for 40 a side and he even rolled the bead that was in it.used 18 ga

I just did mine and used 16 gauge. It is really and easier to weld on than the thinner stuff. My Wag now sounds really solid when slamming the doors.

Luckily I had a friend who was able to cut the panel to shape and all I had to do was bend it and drill holes. It took some time, but I think it came out ok. Not great, but not bad for a first timer.

It really sounds weird to start the engine, it is soooo quiet with metal between me and the starter. Although now I noticed that the muffler is tapping against the frame. I gotta fix that this weekend because it is one of the last major noises.
