I'm working on one of our own members rigs and I just discovered his glass metal channels inside the tailgate are 50% gone on one side and 25% gone on the other (rust). Can you still get the metal rails. I will probably need some to for my wag too. I know BJ's sells the felt and rubber inserts, but we need the metal U channels that guides and supports the glass up and down. Is this a junk yard item?? Thanks for any help.... Kaiserjeeps...

got mine from bj's; they included the metal bracket and the felt wipes

and, if you need the rail that holds the glass, let me know

Ok I looked over BJ's site and I have some questions. Regarding the tailgate. Some of the parts like the wipes, the upper window seal, and the tailgate to body seal show they are for 74-91.
I have a 1969. Will these 74-91 parts work on my earlier gate???

Same thing with the door lock gaskets. Will they work on my 69??? Somebody please say yes...

Thx...

Okay, here is the scoop. The tailgate wipes will fit, but the inside one will have to have the rubber wipe mostly trimmed off or it makes the window a total pain in the rear to get up and down. The reason for this is the early Wags had a thicker window and they used a piece of felt for the inner wipe that we cannot get. Trimming the edge of the inner wipe will effectively make it a piece of felt (does that make sense?)

Door wipes will work fine.

The tailgate upper channel should work fine also, but maybe you'd be willing to test this for us?

Tailgate to body seal will only work on 74-91 because before that they put the seal on the tailgate and it is not even close.

Door locks changed size in 74 so the gaskets we currently have won't work.

Email me and let me know. ryan@bjsoffroad.com
