I picked up a set of helper springgs to try and eliminate the saggin wagon. Will this help and if so for how long?

I was going to buy rusty's 2" AAL kit, but shipping was almost as much as the kit.

Also after reading the helper springs installation directions it sounds like there are a couple different ways to install.
1) it says jack the truck up 6" higher than the desired elevation then bolt the helper springs on over the existing springs
2) It says undo the existing clamp springs and add the helper springs to the pack (doing it this way I assume you would not have any weight off the vehicle with a jacK)
3) bolt the helper springs onto the existing springs with out lifting the vehicle (this was stated to add to the overall weight capacity of the vehicle).

I am not sure which option I need to do to cure saggin wagon. The guy at the parts counter said #2 but I am not sure if he understood the problem. TIA!

I think you want to go with option #1, seems to make more sense that way.
Not sure if this is going to help that much though.
How much was the setup?
Summit has AAL's, long style, 2.5" wide for about $72.

$50....
I checked JC Whitney when I got home $45, it didn't come up as an option for use on Grand Wagoneer's.

They are 2" wide and 33" long.

I am trying to find leaf springs locally and everbody just wants to sell me either shocks or coil springs. Krapen said it would take them 2 weeks to get leaf springs in. Should I go with the heavy duty shocks that have some type of a coil spring?

Oh, well, that's not bad then, $50 flies out of the wallet pretty fast on these rigs anyway.

A lot of that decision depends on what your intentions for the GW are?

These rigs are known for their nice stable ride.
If you want to keep it that way (or bring it back up to snuff) I suggest saving for new springs with maybe a 2-3" lift (you really won't notice 2-3" on these rigs, actually makes it look a bit more normal).

I've never been a big fan of helpers, AAL's, shocks with coils, etc. I've used them on several occasions but my feeling is they are just masking other issues. Not that the issues are critical, just that if I would have been more patient and far sighted, I would have spent less time and had a better overall rig.

Problem solved.... the ones I bought aren't designed to work on GW's. The leafs on GWs are on top of the shock, the helpers I bought are designed for under (which seems weird, maybe for cars?).

I am going to find a local spring shop or maybe Eaton Springs, they had a good informative web page.
