You should be able to rent them for free from your local parts store. You just pay a deposit and when you bring the tool back you get your deposit back. When it comes to pulling bearings and seals I don't take any short cuts unless it is unavoidable.

are you talking about the ball bearing or the roller nearings in the QT.....the ball bearings just slide out once you get that PITA clips out!......for the roller bearings I used a grinder I use for porting heads.....just cut through one side and pealed it out......I had all the correct tools at the machine shop but this way turned out to be the easiest.....do you have low in this QT...one thing I found out the hard way.....make sure all the roller bearings are installed flush!!!....I got my QT all together and went to install the low range and the shaft was not protruding out of the case far enough, after some troubleshooting I figured out that the roller bearing was not pounded in far enough.....so I had to disdassemble the entire QT to pound that bearing in about .005 more...good luck! if you have any questions I just did a QT w/ parttime bearrings, chain the entire thing about a month ago so the process is pretty fresh in my mind!
