Tires for daily drivers
Okay guys
I need help buying new tires.
Trying to decide between my favorite Michelin m/s2 in 235/75r15 vs white walls to keep the OEM look.
This is a daily driver and not an off road vehicle.
Thoughts? What do you have? Likes / dislikes?
Thanks for the input

I have white walls now and love the look. Problem is I want something in a white wall with A/T tread and haven't found anything as of yet. I am also a fan of michellin tires as the ride and handling of them is great but havent found a white wall in the M/S tread pattern they offer. If you come across a good tread life tire in a white wall with A/T tread pm me or post it up please!

I love the look of Wagoneers with white walls, so that gets my vote.
Also, this thread needs 100% more poll!

I like Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S tires, I've had them on my last two Tundras. My GW came with new TOYO Open Country A/T II tires, 30,000 city/highway miles and 7 years later they still have a ton of tread left on them. Both tires are quiet.

my only 2 cents is you have a DD and want as close to OEM ride stay away from LT rated tires as they have stiffer sidewalls and tend to ride more harsh. i went back to touring and it made a significant difference. you can still get a decent MS tread pattern in regular tires

I understand the appeal of the OEM whitewall look but IMHO nothing looks better on a FSJ then a set of BFG's.

I picked up the Hankook's at Walmart - seriously. Seems like they were less than $50 each and road hazard coverage was available for less than $10/tire. The Hankooks are quiet and give a decent ride. No one is getting a Maybach ride in our GW's. I noticed looking at a couple of Wagonmaster rigs last month(I was looking for a detailed shot of the rear wiper) that they had the Hankook's. Not saying he is the ultimate authority by any means, just using it as a point of reference.

BFG for me.
I have used them on all my CJ's and Wranglers. They I have one set that has well over 75,000 miles on them and are over 16-years old (I now only use them to move my rolling chassis) still plenty of tread left. I have a set on my son's Unlimited that have well over 60,000 miles on them and still have 2/3 of their tread life left.
I realize this is somewhat apples to oranges and they should wear a bit more on a heavier FSJ...

I have a 4in lift with 31in General AT's...I absolutely hate these tires. They are really loud and hard. The only good thing about them is they are considerably cheaper than BFG AT's; I regret being cheap on a purchase like this. I have had them rotated and balanced, also played with the amount of air pressure to see if that would help but no luck. Next time I am shopping for tires, money will not be the deciding factor for which tire I choose. BTW, this is my DD and I average around 12-15mpg at the moment with a Howell EFI and 3.31 gears.

Jasper

These are Jasper 225/75/15. They came on the truck when I purchased it back in December. They still have plenty of tread but are showing signs of dry rot. Looking to replace but want to find a white wall with A/T tread pattern. Nothing aggressive though as I am building this for my DD. Something in a white wall with a tread pattern like the one on a Michelin M/S tire will be sufficient as I don't offroad much. Just something to get me back and forth from fishing holes and what not.

That is a beautiful Jeep! Hard to tell but is that a grey or green color?
