A friend of mine (long time ago) had a '80 J-10 but he had bucket seats in the Jeep.
Peach has a bench seat and would like buckets since the bench (drivers side) in compressed/springs worn.
Are there certain seats and brackets that need to go in or any aftermarket seats will work.
She loves her CJ high back seats so something like that so she can get in and out easily.
Thanks again for all the help (Newbie to FSJ),
Jim

Hello again guys, I am ready to strip off the EMISSION stuff off the J-10 (not needed where I'm at) and not sure what to take off of it.
I would like to keep the EGR for now and all vacuum lines that run the fresh air intake/Air Cleaner.
All the rest can go; air pump/hoses etc.
Does anyone have a diagram to show me what to keep? I can figure out what to remove.
Thanks,
Jim

Question(s).
I am going to put some MMOil in the cylinders tomorrow since it has been sitting and I have a question.
Since it has sat for a long time and I do not know the condition of the oil I wanted to drain the oil.
I would like your opinion on this:
1. Drain oil/replace oil filter
2. Add 3 qts of oil and 2 qts of MMOil to free it up/lifters
3. Add 4 qts of oil and 1 qt of MMOil
4. Or do you have other recommendations
Thanks again,
Jim

Jim, any full size jeep seat will fit in there you just need to get the seat brackets for the buckets. Also Wagoneer seats fit, your floor is drilled to accept all the different types of FSJ seats. If you can find a J-10 Laredo they sometimes came with high back buckets that are almost identical to the cj seats.

Thank you Jim. I bet it will look sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.
I took the pump off and brackets so far. Need to buy 8 bolts to fit the exhaust manifold where the smog stuff was, then on to the rest of it.
I put some MMOil in each cylinder to loosen up the rings just in case (someone here suggested I do so-thanks).
Took off the cut power steering hose and did a few other things.
Next to do a compression test (not sure if I will get an accurate reading w/wet cylinders), after that we will change the oil adding two Qts of MMOil, change the plugs and crank her up.
Then gunk it (Royal Purple) and pressure clean it.

You might look into pulling the dizzy and running the oil pump after the oil change, before you turn the crank.

Ok most of the smog stuff off.
MMOil sat in the cylinders over night.
Today I cranked it over to get most of the MMOil out of the cylinders.
Have oil pressure.
Getting ready to put three gallons of gas in the tank and fire her up.
Not 100% sure there is old gas in the tank but after 2.5 yrs + in the heat of NV I"m sure it evaporated.
Not sure if the tank leak has been fixed but will soon find out.
Will update later.

OK got her running. The lifters had to fill up and the carb is leaking/needs to be rebuilt. Old gas in tank/added new gas to it.

Fuel Sender: Do you have to drop the tank to replace it?
Where would one look to buy one?
Thanks,
Jim
P.S. This is a pic of the front of the tank & I think it is the sender.

I removed the Smog pump and rails from the Jeep and now I need to clean up the rest of the compartment/vacuum hoses etc.
Does anyone have a pic or diagram?
I would like to keep the stock air filter and the vacuum hook up for that so the door will open for winter starts, oh, and the EGR.
Thanks,
Jim
P.S. I really want to thank everyone for their help on the forum-J trucks are way different than CJ's but I am managing
