Charging issues
Hello everyone, so a while back I noticed my 76 J10 360 was no longer charging, I right away went and replaced the alternator, but nothing changed.
The only thing that changed was that my oil pressure gauge no longer read, it turned out I did not hook up that wire.
Today I replaced the regulator, but it seams like it is still not charging, today was also when I noticed the unplugged wire, I hook up the wire somewhere to the alternator and wala! my oil pressure gauge is working again. The only problem is that it is completely maxed out.
Seeing if anyone can help me out, Did I maybe hook up my alternator incorrectly? Maybe yes since it seams like the oil pressure wire is on the wrong connector.
Does anyone have any information be it pictorial or descriptive of where the wires are suppose to be hooked up on the alternator?
Any other ideas would be appreciated, thanks

The oil pressure sender wire should have a 90* push-on connector, is purple, and it's not physically possible to connect it to the alternator. So is this what you have installed on the oil pressure sender?
The oil pressure gage should have nothing to do with whether the alternator wiring is correct or not.
