16197427/Tunerpro Data logging FUN!
Got my 360 tune set up they way I want it, just waiting to have time to finish the 401/4L80E install, in the mean time life's other duties do create some fun time. I had to run about an hour up and back to the grandmother-in-laws to pick up out camper they borrowed when her son's family was visiting from out west so they had a place to stay, so for kicks I data logged the unloaded trip up and loaded trip back.
I exported to a csv tossed out the outliers calc'ed and average mpg
14.75 unloaded
10.77 loaded
12.67 together
and at the pump I put in 9 gallons for 110 miles = 12.2mpg
I'd would say the computer is pretty dang accurate, probably more than the odometer/pump since I was bumping the handle to get it up to an even 9 gallons, pretty sure the fill neck was about plumb full.
I can see that I will want a tow program again, some sooner PE would be nice when pulling out behemoth of a camper, and i expect I will want different shift points on the tranny too, I manually dropped it down into 2nd a couple times on big hills.
I already figured out how to make a 2 timer for a AM29F040B-90PC chip
(more on that latter)

Just out of curiosity, what bin did you use?
Last tank of strictly city driving I got ~12MPG.

Moates offers a bin switcher that can be used with the EX remote.
But if you program a "valet mode" that has the engine cut out at a certain speed or RPM, just make sure that you don't try to drive normally in that mode. Otherwise your engine will die for no apparent reason and you'll be stumped for an hour or two. AMHIK.

I am way to cheap for that - about $75 for the mcal and remote.
For under $10 at the Shack (an explaining to the kid that they sell more than just cell phones) I put together a little switcher for 2 programs, and now I picked up a $3 rotary switch so I can have 4 programs and with the rotary (mounted on the PCM) I can set which 2 the dash switch will switch between. Not as elegant, and I have my dash switch with center off to kill power to the pcm to prevent any shorts or spikes when switching, so no switch on the fly, but I can live with that - plus it resets the BLM's, which could be a good thing.

I'll have to look @ that one...
BJYL (what I started with) is OD$ and worked okay, but it's 4L60E.
BMHK was a wash with my 360, had a cold start/driveability issue I couldn't get rid of no matter what I changed/tried.
BLHH is what I'm using now, and seems to works pretty well.
A side by side comparison reveals a scary amount of differences between BMHK and the 5.7 bins.

Also interested in the bin switcher, sounds like my kind of project.

If you look at my idle issue thread, I had to pull idle table data from BJYN OD mask to get my truck to stay running at idle.
The switcher was fun, I will do a write up, with some pics.
I also hijacked the Charcoal Canister Purge wire (since I don't have one) to light my dash light so I can see what program is active.
For example my standard program is no light, my heavy tow program will have the light on full time, for the others I'll go with bilnking and maybe a slow pulse.

No matter what I changed the thing just struggled badly to start when cold.
Fire immediately, but stall, required 3-4 attempts to start it.
It would idle fine once it actually started.
Copied over several things from BJYL, but the issue just wouldn't go away.
After wasting way too much time on it, decided to move on.
BLHH/BJYL don't exhibit the issue, and copying over cold start related parameters didn't help/resolve.
@ any rate I'm done with BMHK, just not a good base for my 360 for whatever reason(s).
BLHH works well, and I have the timing/fuel dialed in well enough to get 12mpg city, best I got with BMHK was 10mpg city.
