Yes, electrical stuff, as well as flex plate/starter are different minor stuff though.

IIRC 88 is the year they did away with the ammeter and went to a volt meter. Supposedly, this is a much safer way to monitor the electrical system. Lots of folks on here have switched over to using a volt meter.

It's also the year that Chrysler took over from AMC.

My 86 has a volt meter..
Ithink that 88 was the year they did away with the door pulls above the armrests or 89 cant remember.

I'm not well versed on the late rigs but "I think" they're pretty much the same rig other than than the change to the Mitsubishi starter and related components. (electrics, flexplate etc). I think 88 was when they had options for various trouble causing fluff: rear window wiper, overhead console. On the voltmeter thing, I thought that came standard in 86? Odds are fair here I may be wrong on everything but the starter and related parts change.

The 86 and newer have the dash with the volt gauge.
89-91 had the rear wiper.

The engine was the same, all they way through the last year 1991. No O2 sensors. One of the last carbureted vehicles made.

With the exception that some of the blocks were cast with 5.9 on the side instead of 360.

The truck has brand new: batteries, gear reduction starter,Humvee fan and fan clutch,idler/pitman arms,Prothane urethane body mount bushings, billet grille, billet inserts in the dash/door panels.....Im not too sure what the Waggy needs....so far he said it has a water leak.....and needs seat covers on front seats, and somehow the pass side front seat got burned???
Any advice? Thanks

Depends on your wants and needs. I have an 84 C20 6.2 and wouldn't trade it for a GW. I have more need/use for a reliable decent fuel mileage truck than I have for a fancy 4500 lb station wagon.

I have to agree, I wouldn't do it either.

Is the registration even current on the wag?
What about smog?, quick check reveals the last test was in '08

Run away...just my opinion. Sure isn't a $2k GW.

Thanks guys. Yeah I have already made up my mind. My truck averages 18 mpg and thats with 4.56 gears! I am gonna keep my truck. I also noticed that the ORIGINAL price on that waggy was $1300 and now it's $2000!!??
And those seats...looks like spontaneous anal combustion!!

I think the only reason I am wanting to trade my truck for a wagoneer is because my oldest son(6) is wanting to go camping and fishing. I have a 4yr old that is wheelchair bound and then my wife and chocolate lab. My truck cant take us all. So I am still on the look out.I rarely use my truck as a truck, mostly just a driver. I also have an '89 Suburban 2500 2wd,but I think the tranny has problems(making a whining-like a supercharger-noise only when driving and slowing down, not at idle),so I am afraid to take it anywhere.
