Your Jeep's gender
So which is your Jeep? Do you refer to it as "he, she, it..."??? If you were to personify your FSJ, which would it be?

Gah!! I've struggled with this for ten years; don't make me choose because I can't! Sometimes I say "it", and sometimes "she". I started out with "he" but for some reason that just doesn't feel right. I guess I'm just psychically picking up on its female gender.
What about you?

It depends on the Jeep's personality. I've had some that were definitely a HE and some that were definitely a SHE and some I never really thought of.

Mine's a she. Sure, it's a truck-like tough vehicle, but it has beauty and grace. Like PlasticBoob said, I'm probably just partial because I'm a dude!
I've always tried to come up with a name for it, other than "The Wagoneer". High up on the list have been Carly and Linda. Something typical early 70's like those, but I've never been able to bring myself to use any of the names. It just feels awkward to use a human name on a vehicle, no matter how much that vehicle means to me.

LOL, that's hilarious! Great names. I don't have a problem with it, but just haven't given it much thought. I too have struggled to find a name but they're always generic (and taken by other members here) - The War Wagon, The Beast, The Battleaxe, etc. I've been waiting for something to just present itself, but so far nothing has. Maybe one day....
DeeDee? Kandi? Robin? Wendy? Patricia? Those all sound '70s to me and would certainly fit my Jeep's flamboyant paintjob.

Growing up, all of our cars were female that I can remember. We had the Old Grey Ghost, named after a particularly whitish/grey great aunt (creepy), there was a Gertrude, Bessy, Matilda and Pearl.
I don't believe we ever had a George or a Harry, not even a Tom or a Bill.
My GW?? I really don't know. Sometimes I've named it, "I HATE YOU" or 'Dirty Turd'. Once I even called it Ugly. But then it didn't start for three days.

The J10 I think is female. The Wag got named "Marvin the Martian" by my son so it's a boy. My KJ has nuts so it's gotta be a man!!

I think my wag is a she, although the PO called it BOB short for to Big-Ol-Basterd, I defintely think its a she, havent figured a name for it yet though, even when I had it before the PO, I only called it "The Wag" or "The Wagon" which is what I call it now. Im not sure what Id call my dads J10 either. My dad calls everything a she, so its probably a she, but we always call it "The J" so thats what we'll stay with until we figure something out. Weve always stuck with female names, I had a 96 Dodge Ram 2500 V10 4x4 extended cab long bed I used to call "Big Bertha" and my dad used to call his Ford E250 LWB work van Martha.

My new to me g-wag is a he. Just got it back from the shop about a month ago. I'm still working on a name but it will come to me soon. The g-wag is a he because he doesn't put up with any junk on the road and the girls love him.

My 99 Grand Cherokee is a she, and my J20 and Waggy are both males.
I prefer them as guys because my Grand Cherokee gets picked on a lot by the guys in my automotive class, so the two older Jeeps are "The Big Brothers" and one day the J20 will show up to class and give those other trucks a talking to

"Waggy" and "Scram". Not very original, but they are both definitely women. Somewhat tempermental, always needing attention, but hot looking and fun to ride!
Waggy
Scram
Almost left "Annie" out! (She's half naked...still getting "dressed")

Mine kinda changes too. Whenever i'm driving and its having problems, i'll always end up saying something like "come on baby, don't give up on me now" or telling myself "she'll make it, she'll make it", so that makes it a she, but my friend named it The Jeffrey (not just Jeffrey, The Jeffrey) so i don't know. I don't think about it much.
