Real Live Super Wagoneer pics included...

On life support.

And no the owner does not want to sell it, or any parts off it.

Its pretty rough but he does plan on restoring it. Went today just to take pictures of how some things looked and went together originally. Have know about this rig for some time.

Those fake knock offs are killer.

Kinda cool. I'm one of the X-model guy's over the D model Super, less fluff, fake leather/rubber water trap roof etc
BUT the stock hub caps, trim, gunsights are kinda cool for those that have never seen a Super Wag.
Good post, thanks !

X2 some of the Super stuff is pretty "look at me". But they are cool in their own quirky way.

More - this was not a good pic cause of the reflection. The circle has the old school Jeep Logo and Colors.

Gunsights

Twin... Gunsights really help the big ole FSJ hood appearance.

Gunsights are "fitted" to the contour of hood, therefore both a left and right side version.

The factory replacement however is not "fitted" or ground on one side so is interchangeable until fitted and installed.

Kaiser probably got the base plate off some other mfg.

Just another bit of useless trivia I learned.

Shame, turning a rare ride into a major project or parts car. It's about as close to decision time as it gets,

Yep last time I saw this rig 4-5 years ago it was in pretty good shape. But parts Wiesel's and taken a few things and nature has not been good to it.

but...
that color is not a factory colour, Empire Blue was never that 'deep' a colour.
cood be a 'one off'
if you can get in the hood again, spot the 'color trim' plate on the pass side of the firewall.

Somebody swiped the paint and trim code.

Guy used to own a Jeep dealership, car is original color. No repaint. Think is was special order.

Just imagine when it was new.

I have only found one of those ever. It was about 10 years ago in Farmington, NM. It still had the 327 in it but the rest was picked down to sheet metal and some glass. The body was yellow. It had been there a while. I salvaged the wiring harness in the tail gate. A few years later that yard shut down and everything was crushed.

Now that I look again, this looks like a sign of masking tape and repaint:

One of those in mint condition would be nice. He pretty much said he has enough money to let it rot away.
