Exclamation Air Conditioning

How much do you think it would cost to put ac in a 1978 jeep j10? I can do the installation, but everywhere I looked it was like $900-$1000. Is it really that much?

If the truck never had ac then most likely yes. You could scrounge up used parts but in my opinion you would be making more trouble for yourself. Old parts make have leaky seals, be contaminated or just not function like they did when new. New compressors, condensors, etc. aren't cheap but in the end you'll have a good system that will last a long time.

When you look at the prices of all the parts (condenser, compressor, switches/controls, evaporator, and all the misc hoses and fittings), you would be getting off cheap if you can do it for about $1000.

If you can't make it better why waste your time. No use repeating the orignal mistakes. I'm to old to push it that's why.
