Which look do you like better?
I just noticed that all the jeeps on this website http://www.wagonmaster.com/complete.htm the refurbished wood grain doesn't have the wood trim where the rear door meets the rear quarter panel.
If I were to refurbish mine I would do it like it came from the factory but this is a pretty good look. Maybe he just wants to add his own personal touch to them, who knows?

I like the full trim, but I suspect that the replacement kits he is getting do not come with it. Also the Wagoneer Limited (precursor to the Grand Wagoneer) did not have the edge trim in between the panels from the factory.

Personally I hate the fake wood look but if I had to live it I'd prefer the one long panel look without the vertical pieces boxing in each section.

I liked the full body wood vinyl over the boxed.

Some did and some Didn't
I don't know what the years were but some have no wood in the rear and others do. My 82' I don't think had the boxing but my kit came with them so I went with it. I have grown used to it and like it boxed.
On a technical note I was not happy with leaving a gap for the doors to open and close, some places you could see paint and wood panel extend past the boxing. I was able to camoflage it with a little wood grain stick-em'

So I picked up a driver side front fender to replace my damaged one today. Same color and everything but in my haste i didnt realize that the wood trim is differant than mine, it is like the trim from wagonmasters jeeps, not a big deal but I will have to splice the trim pieces together to make an exact match.
So it appears that look is on some 86 waggys I believe.
These are some of the images I pulled up for 86 waggys, anybody with an 86 have this variation of trim?

That is how the pre Chrysler Wagoneers with the full woodgrain looked not just '86. This is an '83 Limited http://www.ifsja.org/forums/vb/showthread.php?t=146881 same wood style.

Ooooh someone who might understand. Problem - Didn't like where the woodgrain lays directly on the paint - Solution - Door-edge covers:
Purchased stainless door-edge guards where the top 1-1/2" is 1/2 cut/wrapped so not to look too bulky:
Sent to restoration shop to re-form to fit (current status):
Finally send to my powder-coat guy who will match the color/grain (example):
Remove clear-coat edge guards, trim inside-door woodgrain back to edge, apply, Done. WISH ME LUCK!

Yup that's it for sure, the wood trim in front even goes a little further twords the front of the fender. I hope this Great Googley MoogleyGreat Googley MoogleyGreat Googley MoogleyGreat Googley Moogley thing is a direct bolt on. Lol.
On a dif note, I was surprised at the amount of FSJ fenders this place had.

It's just a sample/example of a dash that the folks did.
