Ideas for Transmission/Transfer Case?
Hey,
I don't exactly want to be able to see my transmission and the road through the holes in the floor for the shifters. I don't have boots, so are there any other options? I can't find any boots for sale anywhere.
If you have ideas or boots, let me know.

If you know how to sew, you can make boots There's cheapo generic ones for sale all over Ebay, but most are for short throw car shifters.
All a boot is, is 4 triangles. At the narrow point you loop the leather around a steel ring. The base you can make from steel or wood (steel would be better. Get an old leather coat or some pleather from a fabric store or walmart, a leather needle, and some heavy canvas weight thread or fake sinew thread (my preference). From there its just knot, in and out, in and out, knot.

The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.

Hmmm....my girlfriend can sew, as can my mom. I might be sending a request out. Thanks for the idea.

You can sew too. You're not making a suit, just sewing up one side of a cone.
Don't bother with mom's sewing basket thread use sail twine and sail needles. Even easier buy a sewing awl with the bobbin in the handle. It comes with a pretty good waxed twine. I've used the same one for 40 years, still works great. Good for fixing floppy boot soles, repairing pack straps. Works great for shift boots too. If you want it to look good turn the material inside out then sew it up.

Perhaps one of these shifter boots from summit might work for your application - http://www.summitracing.com/search/P...=shifter+boots
Some are Naugahyde and other are rubber -
