Unhappy

My idle was too high a while ago on my 86 GW, so i set it down some, then it was too low, so i decide o set it up some, and everything went ok, then i put the part that holds the air filter back on my carb and i heard a sound like some kinda fluid fell, then i'm driving it and it keeps cutting off everytime i stop, then i'm at a stoplight with it in neutral and my foot on the brake and the gas keeping the rpm's high enough to keep it running, and i put it in drive and it barked the tired and jolted the car, but i had taken my foot off the gas, and so the it felt like it was gonna choke out or something, the front felt heavy like nothing was happening in the enigine, then it sprang back to life, and did this untill i reached at least 40mph...i just got in and changed and now i plan to go take a look at it and see if i can tell anything

If you have any idea what could cause this please reply or if you know exactly what i did wrong, or can tell me how to undo whatever happened, my number is (910)-322-4467

Um, is the little flapper valve on the air cleaner housing opening? Take the air cleaner - air filter holder part - off and see if it runs. If you set the idle speed while in park or neutral, you may not havce it set properly when in gear.

Or it is possible your timing is off, or you could have jumped timing.

Someone else should answer soon, try going to the main page and look through the Tech archives and check about tune up stuff.

Good luck,

Daniel

Was it cold up there today?

My J-10 is gutless and crappy in the winter unless I let it warm up.

Who knows?
