Nice to have new ps but a quick question...

SO in the last few days I have been tearing into Slave 1.
New carpet, fan clutch, headlights.

Power steering got to the point where it would completely drain itself of all fluids in under 4 hours and I got sick of it so I replaced everything, the ps gear box, pump and reservoir, hoses and because of my own stupidity, the rag joint.

I would like to thank this board for figuring out that the rag joint was the same as a 72 Chevelle. Many thanks.

Ok so here is the problem, I bled the system once I installed everything. (and let me tell you how fun that was) Everything works as it should except when I turn the wheel left when the car is not in motion, the steering sticks, or fights me. is this normal? Or how could I resolve it if not?

It is so nice to be able to turn into my own driveway without it whining, oh and not leave huuuuge puddles in the driveway of clients. lol.

Thanks for taking the time to help guys!

Yeah, I whine a little when I pull into the driveway too.
Drive it a bit and see if you can work some more air out of it.

Could be

The pump/gear box still has issues. It should turn as easy one way as it does the other. I think I would give it a week.

Serehill, I'm afraid your right, that's about what I was thinking. I can't believe these asshats can put out crap remanufactured boxes. Depending on how long the warranty is I may not replace it for at least s month. I don't want to get under that beast for at least a month.

In all probability the pump would not be the issue but the box would. Hopefully it will work itself out.

to throw salt on it...

I personally have never had a problem getting air out of the system, but I have read reports that it is possible, so I threw that out there not really thinking it would help.
