Long time no see! Finally bringing the jeep back home!

Well it has been a long time since I've been on here, but life has been very busy this last year. Wedding, birth of.our baby boy, finding different employment, moving closer to new said employment, and now today, my wife and I are celebrating our one year anniversary! So what better way to celebrate than her telling me to bring the jeep to its new home I'm getting ready now to head out and recover her from her one year hibernation. I'll be sure to take lots of pics, wish me luck! Man it feels good to be back here.

Well..... She's home! Dad and I drove out there, dragged her out of the barn, fresh fuel, fresh battery, and she fires right up! So actually got to drive her home which was freakin great! So as promised here are pics, she has to sit outside right now till I get the pickup that is housing this out of the garage. Then the transformation will begin. Here is when she was just pulled out of the barn and got her running

Thanks for the kind replies ya'll. Okay as for transformation, bear with this will sound winded lol. Back when I first met my wife I decided to regasket the engine as it wasa greasy nasty mess. I pulled the engine, tore it down and cleaned everything. Upon disasembly, I rotated the engine on the stand and dumped the lifters out onto the shop floor. So with most of my money tied up into the basket kits hardware and such, I had to opt for the summit cam and lifters set. So in having it torn down I also got to see just how worn the engine was, it was worn lol. But I knew I would like to swap or rebuild later down the road. So it was put back together and about that time we found out my wife and I were expecting, and the place we were living the landlords were less then enthusiastic about my jeep. So my best friend kindly offered to let me store it in his barn out of the weather. So the ol gal sat in that barn for a little over a year without being driven at all due to just how life goes.
So this brings us up to a little while ago. My wife told me she thought it would be nice if I would fix up the jeep to be a comfortable and reliable daily driver for her. She doesn't drive much now as she is a stay at home mom and our boy is only 8mo old, so I told her I would absolutely do this as long as I can take my time and do it right, no rush jobs. So now...... I warned you this would be long lol.
I have decided to go the cummins route for a few reasons, one is that the current motor should be rebuilt, it gets 10mpg at best. Plus for what I got the whole truck for, I could go a lifetime and never swing a deal like that again. Also I am a farm mechanic and our farm equipment have these engines as powerplants, so I have gotten some pretty good experience on them. Oh and finally, its just freakin sweet to have a diesel powered Jeep! So as far as why I am calling this a transformation, the jeep does have a few issues that Ned attention. The wiring has been garbage since the day I bought it, it just needs redoing, this is the perfect time. There are some spots of rust that need attention also but shouldn't be too bad. And because of the added weight of the cummins, I will be upgrading the drivetrain as well, most likely not one tons, but 8lug 3/4 will surely suffice. So long story longer, that is the rough idea of what lays ahead.
