The Beast is Licensed!!!!

My wife licensed the beast today, so tomorrow I'm driving it to the office. Hopefully it won't stink me up too bad being that I have a funeral tomorrow and will be in my suit. Maybe I'll take a pic of it on it's maiden voyage in my hands and post it tomorrow.

So the ride into the office went fairly uneventful except for a few minor tweaks and one thing that kind of boggles my mind. Everything worked as it should except that now I know I'm going to have to replace the wiper controls as it only works the wipers on one speed rather than intermittent, low and high. Next is tweaking the carb. When at a stop light I have to ease into the gas because it kind of chokes a little and same goes for just moseying along at about 35 or so, when I push the pedal down to hop lanes it chokes then too. Lastly, either the gauge is wrong or this monster has 80psi of oil pressure. After I got to work I looked under it to see how the dipstick tube did since it's replacement....it looks seated fine but there is oil dripping underneath the truck again. I looked under the hood and what do ya know, the dipstick pushed up and oil must have been blowing up the tube and out. It kind of makes me scratch my noggin' a bit. Any ideas?

Here is a pic of the beast at the office. I can't quite use it as a lead car for funerals, but at least it looks cool chillin' in the parking lot.

Nice looking truck. Bogging down on acceleration from a stop makes it sound like the accelerator pump is not working or not adjusted right.

With the engine NOT RUNNING, you should be able to see a squirt of gas shoot into the carb when you open the throttle really fast. Obviously, you have to remove the air cleaner to see this.

If the dipstick is getting pushed out, that means your crankcase pressure is not being relieved. Your PCV valve may be broken, plugged or non-existant.

Tonight when I get home I'm gonna pull the AC and see what's goin on. I did notice that when adjusting the carb, I didn't get much response from the adjusting. I could turn the screws in all the way and nothing changed so I'm thinkin a carb rebuild may be in order. My thoughts are right with you on the PCV. I'm thinking it's probably non-existent but I'll use the diagram someone posted a while back and see if I can't find the problem. BTW, thank you for the compliment!

Get an intermittent module from a smaller cherokee. Not sure what years to use exaclty but the one I pulled from the salvage yard worked perfectly.

This should help.
