Spec sheet?

As I've said previously, I'm emigrating from South Africa to Portugal and hoping to take my truck with me.

The vehicle is a 1980 Jeep Cherokee-4 Door Station Wagon-109" Wheelbase and I'm told I need to provide the Portuguese customs & irritations with a document
issued by the car manufacturer specifying the technical characteristics of the vehicle.

Can someone tell me what that is and where I get it please?

Page 8 has most of the "technical" data. I assume your truck is ~same as a US built one. (Was yours built in South Africa, or the US ?)

Great. Thanks...... I didn't know they were ever made in South Africa? but mine is left hand drive so I assume it was made in the US.

Jeep had assembly (or contract assembly) pretty much everywhere in the world at one time or the other, I am pretty sure South Africa had a assembly line at one time, but I have no clue if it still existed in 1980 or not (??) What does the first part of the Vin# look like ? (skip the last few 4-5 digits, (build sequence numbers, which mean nothing, for figuring out what you have) if worried about having a full Vin up on the web)

It's all news to me. I always assumed they were all US made, so thanks again for educating me!
