Headlamp

So I was curious I have heard alot of talk from people about conversion kits for the full size jeeps. What I have seen and heard is about hid head light conversion kits for a sealed beam 7' like standard on the full sized jeeps. What I wonder is who makes these and where you can buy them. I looked at bjs but they don't have it they have some head light that is 300+ each and dose not say if it is a hid conversion or not. Dose anyone here really know?

Many ways...

There are many ways to upgrade you headlights.

This is one of many

Everyone has their own opinion on what works for them. I am researching this myself. Watch out for scams.. Happy hunting.

They're everywhere

Be careful though verify they are hid high & low beams. They usually run about 100 bucks & then you have to buy housings which are all over Ebay for a good price. There are cheaper lamps that have quartz low beams & hid high beams. they are enticing because they are cheap & they don't expalin beam options. I love mine but went the cheap route & had to buy the better units now I'm good. I heard all kinds of cons about these things But I would do it again. Ceaper units also don't direct. the beams properly. Mine don't blind oncoming traffic. I would rather see them than the quad headlights everyone thinks is ok to run. the cheaper ones do have the too bright problem. Loosing visible light is part of the problem the whitest ones seem to be the blinders. I used 8500 which is blue. they are not as bright but don't blind like the whites. I've owned both. Simply the response from oncoming driver with the 8500's are much better. When I had the whites they were flashing me all the time. My goal wasn't to blind them. There are tons of different housings. Round & square I used round. Just do the searches below to see what is available. I go down a lot of dark pitch black countery raods & Halogens can't touch my hids. you can get replacement bulbs without buying the entire kit. Tons of custonm shps have them available now also.

Just MY opinions. from my experience. Housings & bulbs are totaly different than OEMS& other vehicles.

These are what I used. Just search ebay for 7" h4 headlamps & HID h4 Hi lo beams.

I'm cheap

Halogen seald beams for main headlights, cheap available anywhere, good light for road use, dosn't blind oncomming traffic. 5" driving lights where the pie pans used to be mostly to repel oncomming traffic with bad headlight mods!

i use the hella ecodes for the housing(bjs), and i have a set of bixenon for the HID bulb.*the bulb has a shield that moves in order to give you regular and hi beams) all you have to do is find an HID kit from extrahid.com that is for the type of plug your headlight bulbs currently use. then spend the $12 extra and get the relay kit. just a tip: dont go above 6000k or below 4500k in color temp. otherwise you start loosing visible light. i use the 5000k for a pure white light and 3500k for my bright yellow fog lights.

good luck!

OEMs all use 4300K and I have yet to see a vehicle with better headlights than my 350Z. I can't speak for any aftermarket bulbs, but when I get around to putting HIDs in my J10 and motorcycles I want to mimic the car's setup as closely as possible.
