Wheels really turned out nice. When you refurbished your rims did you do any work in between the spokes or just the face of the wheel? Mine has peeling occurring in between the spoke and I'm not sure what direction to go other then maybe a chemical paint remover.

Didn't mess with in between the spokes just cleaned them as good as i can, if i had to i would Chemical strip them i guess but I think it would take forever since doing the face with a chemical stripper on one wheel took me 2hrs. But if I had to i would then hit the face with the wire wheel to polish up the machining face and paint between the spokes with a gray then clear it all. I'd try to get engine paint or wheel paint for the gray since it should be more durable

Update Time
Well been doing a few things to the Jeep, I'll let words and pictures Tell the story
[IMG] [/IMG][IMG] [/IMG] [IMG] [/IMG][IMG] [/IMG][IMG] [/IMG]
Well Monday after Black Friday (aka cyber Monday) I made an order to Team Grand Wagoneer for Lower rear quarter panels and a 10,000lb strap for emergencies only. Also got a leather warp kist for my steering wheel.
In prep for the Rausch trip i went to the Junk yard and got a rear hitch off of a Wagoneer and brushed the rust off and then painted it. while there i snagged tow hooks from an expedition front bumper and also mounted them to the rear. I can now be towed or tow from the rear. someday i'll mess with the front.
Used all grade 5 hardware for the towing parts and hitch is mounted using factory holes and the hooks are mounted through the frame as well.
Now the last two days i finally got the ambition to fix the driver's side rust on the rear quarter. Also uncovered previous body work and made it look as good as i could sorry no close up before pics only one original before and afters.
[IMG] [/IMG][IMG] [/IMG][IMG] [/IMG]
Well here are the new Door panels i made, used plywood and then Rubber Floot Mat material and contact cemented them together and voila. also installed a new front passenger kick panel as well. then made the rear driver's side cargo area panel and installed it. Here are the pics and hope you enjoy

Jeep Earning it's Keep
Today the Jeep earned it's keep today towing a 20' flat bed with a thousand pounds of scrap on it. Brakes didn't seem too bad but man the rattles seemed worse and the sway wasn't too pleasant either. But still a good adventure with my first trailer tow in a personal vehicle.
And Pics cause you guys love them

Haha, thanks. The stance does look good, but it's not functional, way too much rub in the back. I'm adding a 1" BL to see if that'll help.
I just made some new panels for the back of my jeep out of plywood, but i'm going to bed liner them with the rest of the cargo area this weekend. it was a pain cutting them out to fit all perfectly!
Keep up the good work on your rig though! I like checking in on it, its so clean!

Thanks
So Dr. what are you running? I'm hoping for a 4" lift and 33x9.5 tires and not to really rub much, But just a hope. Also noticed on JP that your a Landscape Architect student. I went to school for Ornamental Hort Environmental design. Good luck on the Journey to becoming a Landscape Architect
And thanks Lou. They're simple panels that work for now over the mold filled originals and it's Cheap and easy to do. Also used the same material on my roof as a sound deadening material and it works pretty good. Still need to do the tailgate and the Passenger cargo side. Also looking into adding Tan to the panels to go with my interior better

The Material
Here's a link to the rubber material I used on the door panels.
http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...=1327158717263
But i bought it at the local hardware store. They sell it by the foot with either a 24" width or I believe 36" width. So at about $4 a foot each door panel cost me about $20 give or take
And Snow pics, Cause we all love pics

Finally Some work
Finally got the time/ambition to work on the Jeep today.
So I started fixing the rear passenger side Quarter, The rust isn't as extensive as the driver's side was so lucky me.
The Start
[IMG] [/IMG][IMG] [/IMG]
Could be Worse
Removal
[IMG] [/IMG][IMG] [/IMG][IMG] [/IMG]
The Damage
[IMG] [/IMG]
The Fix
[IMG] [/IMG]
Then
[IMG] [/IMG][IMG] [/IMG]
Ground the metal as smooth as possible, then treated with Naval Jelly to inhibit the rust, then sprayed with a rust treatment then heavily coated.
The Mockup
[IMG] [/IMG]
My Crumy welding
[IMG] [/IMG]
How it is now
[IMG] [/IMG][IMG] [/IMG]
Waiting for the Primer to dry then to body fill and sand smooth. I'm not the best metal worker so I try to get it as flat as possible and then fix with body Filler.

Looks great Glenn. I may have to get my rig straightened out before the show in October to make sure you don't win on a runaway.

Looking really good! Your really doing a nice job on your waggy.
I may have missed it in the thread, but where were the off roading pictures?
( Edit: just saw you had said Rausch Creek. I'm going there in June with a group of Blazer guys from CK5 forums, should be fun. I used ride dirt bikes there back when they had the MX park across the street from the truck park. Now they turned it back into a mining facility It's a fun place for sure)
Keep up the good work!
