Is this brush guard rare?

I finally bought winch mount style off-road bumper for the WT waggy and I am debating whether to sell the brush guard that is currently on it or just keep it for a future FSJ project. I have never seen another one and I am sure it's been on the Jeep since it was converted to a WT in the 80's. It was made by a company in the called "Go Rhino" Off-Road Performance in Lynwood, CA (Coincidentally where I was born). Does anyone know anything about these aftermarket brush guards and if they are common or not? This isn't a for sale thread as I am not sure if I even want to sell it but what might it be worth? The pics show it a little dirty but it only has a little surface rust on the bottom piece, other than that the chrome is almost like new. It's not a once piece brush guard, it actually is 7 pieces that bolt together, the rubber bump guards are like new as well.

Thanks all!

I remember a couple FSJs having them down in Corpus Christi area in the 80s. The salt air is hard on the chrome ad ons like that. That is the nicest one I have seen in a long time Scott.

they are hard to come by, I picked up my first one in Colorado Springs when I was living in Pueblo six or seven years ago and found my second one here in Washington at a pick and pull. They are the only two I have seen.

Well they are not that hard to come by. I have seen 3 here in the past 6 months and just picked one up for $50 on craigs list. I love mine and truthfully yours looks in nicer shape.

I have a black one, as you know. I see them every now and then, but not in chrome.

I think you want to sell it to your buddy up in Fort Collins.

If you want to get rid of it, you have my number.

"Go Rhino" is still in business and still making similar items. They also make all of those push bumpers and PIT bars for copcars.

Thanks for all the great info everyone. Sounds like it's not that rare after all. I may just hold on to it for now unless I need the money.

Ethan, if I do decided to sell it I will definitely let you know.

Yeah I would definitely hold on to it. A couple hundred bucks is not worth the headache of searching for another one.

I parted a 81 J10 that T-boned another car. It had the rememnants of that grill on it. It's more bling than zing, but does look nice. I did get to see how thin the tubing is because it was shredded like tin foil. Doesn't protect in a heavy collision in my opinion. Nice and uncommon, I'd rate yours. Enjoy!

I can testify that the tubing isn't really too stout, but it'll fend off a rear door of a Honda or Toyota pretty well.

it's just a brush guard. if you plan to go offroad ditch it sell it and get one to mount a winch. IMO a winch and a rear locker 2 best upgrades.

Good luck. Love your Jeep. would look great with the top cut off and mount a roll bar with a rag top. One of my dreams soon

there was one of those on my daily driver when I bought it. I just took it to the dump as no one would pay the 30.00 I was asking for it.

Agree

It is slightly rare because most of them are dead & gone. Demand is rare also. I think it would look nice in the right enviroment. It is trully a brush guard, It was popular after the after market balck ones from the 70's stopped being produced. I remember ther were expensive.
