drivetrain angle question??

Ok so im getting ready to do the drive shafts on the fc and id like to try to minimize the angle at the rear end

and i got to thinking about taking out the homemade blocks that are set to level the drive train

these were made up like twenty years ago when the first 327 went in and im thinking that if they werent in there the angle would be alot more reasonable. So i guess my question is if anyone thinks that it would be a problem for the mounts or engine not having them in there?

As long as the engine doesn't sit at too much of a rearward tilt and you have the clearance you should be good to go.

The spring in the first pic has me a little worried though.

not sure whats wrong with the rear springs... other than the fact that they came out of a 01 f150 lol... but really thats how they are supposed to look.

but the angle would be only a inch of a drop from mount to mount so i dont know if it would be that bad im more worried about if the engine mounts would handle the twist?

The curve just looks like a spring that was jammed into a space it was too long for. A quick search says that you are right they do look like that.

If you have room to lower the engine that would help, you don't want more than around 8* of tilt if I remember right, if you have more than that you can run into oiling and fuel issues.
