I LOVE side pipes Mike. Been wanting to do this to the '79 for a long time...but can't find a way to do it with the long tube headers. I say go for it...that way it's already done for me when I buy it off you

Don't know about outright laughter cause that's rude but I'll bet you could detect some snickering from the left coast.

All you would need to make it look perfect would be a set of highly polished turdbines.

poking around on you tube they sound nice, are kinda quiet. it's about 64" between the flares on the cherokee. a 60" sidepipe would fit perfectly, and run the full length between.

go for it! Never seen that done before besides just putting a turn down right off the header. Looks like a high quality kit.

I have 40" glasspacks on the J-10, maybe we should start a fad, I'll put my chrome screens on them from my 69 Ford van.
Might have to do something with my multi-colored pipes though...

they aren't good on the shins and ankles. Everyone that I know that had sidepipes burnt themselves on them at one time or another. Well you might be used to that, you are into old bikes.

I've never had any problems offroad or burned myself (or others) with my sidepipes. They sound decent and are not quiet AT ALL, don't heat up the floorboards as much, there's no y-pipe to contend with when dropping the transmission, you wont bend them by backing into something low to the ground (like a stock pipe), and it's true-duals.
I say go for it, you'll love 'em!
I've had mine for about 6 years, so I'm looking for a different setup. I'm thinking 2" dual straight pipes straight out the back...

Laugh? Through a glass pack? Just a bit. I would put them on the 350 Wag, not so much the Cherokee.

i don't want it too loud. they sound kinda subdued on youtube. don't think they'd look good on a N/T,i think they'd look good running between the fender flares aof a W/T.

i would put them even with the rocker,i hate when the sidepipe looks like a running board. ideally the turnout tip would end under and just beyond flush of the rear flare.

Picturing them on a WT is growing on me a little but i'm still not thinking they will look that great
I also have a strong feeling those are going to look like canned crap after next winter is over, even with you washing it all the time at the shop

pfff...no faith in that show quality chinese chrome eh?
i paid 450 for my dual exhaust on the GW. i supplied the mufflers, about 100.00 for the pair.
the side pipes i can do myself, with the 50.00 side pipe kit. with the headers, side pipes and kit i'll have about 450.00 in all of it. if i don't like them i can take them off and put them on my Moto-Guzzi.

Goozi Side Pipes. Might need casters on the 60" tips.
