That is a Pig Nose Grill. Found on 79-85 Wagoneers, 79 Chero's and 79 J-Trucks. There may be a few other models it showed up on, I'm sure someone will update with other models if they are around.

also used on some '80 cherokees and J-trucks, but most of them were the mostly black(Laredo?) style pig nose. I've also seen these on up to '81 and '82 foreign market J-20s

If you paint them flat black they look kinda cool, but otherwise they are the ugliest possible grill, in my opinion.

Yup, as stated above...Pignose used from 79-83 on the Wagoneer, 84 and 85 on the Grand Wagoneer, and 79 and 80 on the Cherokee and J-Truck. I love that grille and would still have one if mine wasn't all cracked and peely.

Aftermarket Pig nosed grill from BJ's .

My replacement was not all chrome, it was the later version that had the black on some of the interior.

I never realized so many people don't like the "Pig Nose" grill. I think they're pretty cool, but I don't like the square headlights. Converted to round headlights (which doesn't look too difficult), I think they would look great.

Shiny Side Up!
