help with part id....
After overheating at a stoplight today I found my problem. It's where the hose from the heater core connects to the engine in back. The nipple has corroded out and cut the hose. when I stopped she blew. Anyway what is that thing called? It looks to be aluminum. Thanks

You Can get these @ Napa just take it off & take it uo there. I bought a steel one.

It's called an water inlet/outlet nipple.

X2. Alot of the big name auto parts places will have one or two types on the shelf near all of the chrome stuff, usually $15-$20. Definately cheaper at Napa.

yep
I looked at the cheaper ones. I just wanted the good one no use replacing a cheap one again they not cheap like that.
Cheap & Chrome won't get you home.

I went to the local parts place.... not the chain store, but I forgot the the exact size of the thread, may be 3/8 npt.... for a 5/8 heater hose, $5. They did not have the curved version for the older wag, but have an 87 the straight version is fine... you only have to deal with the thermal switch if you still have it.
