Almost made a huge mistake today
Woke this morning with the mind set of getting a bunch done on my rig today. Got to work putting my new ring and pinion in my 60 front. Changing from 4.10 to 4.88. Got a new 4 series carrier to put in her. After pressing all my new bearings onto there respective places, figured out my ring and pinion was a thick gear, for my old 3 series carrier. started pulling it all back appart,,,, yadda yadda yadda, people griping cause I was needed elsewhere,,,,,, I just lost it
In a fit of furry, I listed the whole thing on craigslist, everything I Have for 1500.00, big block dana 60, 14 bolt, J truck, M715, lift, every single last bolt..... And went for a ride on my Harley.
Returned back to a message on my phone, first call offered me 400.00 bucks for my 1ton axles...lol
After a moment of clarity,,,,and few profane words I wont say here,,,,, I thought,,,,,,
IM GONNA BUILD THIS DANG TRUCK!!!
Sorry for the rant, I know Im new here, but at least you here know how much I really want to put this rig together.... Now,,,,,,,, Im back to the shop, Im gonna get that 60 ready tonight one way or another......
Oh yeah,,, I removed it from craigslist...lol

I did that a year and a half ago.
Not having a job and freaking out over not having enough to pay rent, I listed my beloved J-10 one month for a whole 2 days and my wrecker the next month for 3 hours. Both times I told myself I'd sleep in them if I had to...
Just dont think the wife would go for it.
I still have both.

Did the same thing with my waggy a couple of months ago, but things worked out...sometimes it's just good to step back and breathe.

LOL. I have been right there with you cussing the dang thing every way but Sunday and was ready to give it all away for a fraction of what I had spent to gather it all up. But after a few days I found the drive again and a new idea to try and sure enough it all came together. Stick with it, I cant wait to see the finished project.good luck.

I've been in the trenches for 5 months on-going.
At least I'm still not in the dog house.
Builds just don't happen over night or in 48 hours like on TV.
They ALSO generally don't happen at your local body shop either they basically just want to fiddle with the quick money makers like insurance claims either there in out because they determined to be totalled. Typcially if they give you an estimate its so high 99% of people just head for the exit door.
Good luck with your build stay at it

Most of us with a jeep project have been there. Sometimes you just have to get away from it and everyone around you and cool off and let your head clear.

Exactly. That's what my dogs are for. Hang with them, just having fun, for an hour or so and I'm back in the saddle, so to speak.
Youngblood, thanks for sharing and participating in the IFSJA "group therapy".

When I was a kid I noticed when my father was home it seemed he spent a lot of time on the toilet. I asked my mom if Daddy was OK and she said he likes to get some reading done uninterrupted and that's the only place around here he can think of to do it. I think I inherited some of this from him, but try to take it easier on the ol' throne.
That said I remember being engaged in rebuilding an engine for a truck I really needed to get working again, and it was a long time broken up to that point, and I was really getting grumpy about everybody and their pea-pickin uncle crowding me for things while I tried to get this work done. I finally grabbed a large paper grocery bag and a felt-tip marker and nearly tore through the bag writing something like this to pin up on my shop door:
IT MAY LOOK LIKE I'M HERE
BUT LET IT BE SAID
WHEN I'M WORKING ON SOMETHING
PRETEND I AM DEAD!
Having loved ones and others around may really be a good thing when you look at the big picture; nobody wants to be lonely--do they...? But there are times when it's possible to have too much of a good thing.

I'll TOTALLY give you $4 50 for those tons
LMAO... Actually I already have my own set to work on... Nothing too frustrating so far (other than smashing my finger open to the bone while working on the 60 front ) but with all the money spent so far and all the money still to spend I sometimes think I'd come out ahead PAYING someone to take all the junk off my hands... LOL
