Call me crazy...
So the 2005-2010 Grand Cherokees and Commanders share a platform with a wheelbase of 109.5 inches and my '90 Wagoneer's wheelbase is 108.7, less than an inch difference. Would it be possible to put my body on the chasis of a GC or Commander? Since I am wanting to go 2wd and Hemis were available, why not have a modern vehicle underneath?

They are unibody vehicles. You cant take the body off the frame. You can do an engine swap though, many have.

I once saw a build that took a new charger and built an old charger body onto it. It was still the modern charger with the old charger kinda wrapped around it. If I can find it I'll post.

West Coast Customs did a few of those. The first time, they took the body off a 69 charger and put it on new charger. Then they did it again with a classic car (don't remember which one) and put it on a different new car (again, don't remember). The key thing is that with enough money, tooling, and time, you can do just about anything. All is based on what you want and are willing to do.

I think the first one they did was a '67 Chevelle on a late model Corvette, but they are both full frame vehicles, so.... apples and oranges. But the Charger conversion is a spot on comparison and a TON of work.
