what did you guys put on the sheetmetal floor to protect from rust?
Im gonna yank my carpet out soon, i peeked under here and there and saw only mild surface rust from leaks.
I have some eastwood rust converter and encapsulant to fix it.....i am thinking of a roll on bed liner or some other material to stop it from hapening again
does anyone have any suggestions? and what to stay away from?
i will be reinstalling a new carpet by the way
trip

Undercoating or rust proof/preventative paint (Rust Bullet, etc.). Or both if you can afford it.

Lots of folks have their favorite products, but for under the carpet I really like Duplicolor truck bed liner.
It's too slick for actual bedliner, but for all my general purpose metal covering over primer I use it. Bumpers, floorpans, freshly welded repairs, etc. It's quick, cheap (relatively), easy and dries quick.

I used POR15 on mine. Its a bit of a process but works really good. Its not to expensive either. Cost me about $100 to do the floor in my cherokee including paint and cleaners

POR 15 is a good product, but if you already have eastwood rust converter and encapsulation that should be fine.
The key is to try to locate any areas where water can get into the interior and seal those areas to prevent future problems. Also maybe skip the fluffy rug mat backing and put down a layer of foil backed insulation.
New floor pans with POR 15- also coated the underside of the pans.

I like the idea of skipping the fluffy insulation, can i just get the foil stuff at home depot? or do i need something special? sound will also be a major concern though

I think I bought a roll of this off ebay for like $30 bucks or so. Just cut and put down with 3M spray adheasive for trim. My interest was in sound protection as well as heat/cold.
