93 ZJ seats in an 79 FSJ
Just wondering if anyone has done it and how much of a hassle it was.

I did 95 GC seats into a 75 J and the passy side was the hardest. Mine came out close to the door, but mines a work truck so I dont have many passangers with me. They are comfy though.

Googly the googly kittens!
Jaber: Thanks. Did you just use the brackets on the seats, or try to adapt the FSJ brackets?

replaced ours with dodge/plymouth? van seats, mid 80's if I remember right. kinda tight fit, have to adjust with doors open tho but once set who cares.
did use the pass. side interior bracket from FSJ seat as the hump wouldn't allow the vans bracket to work, also had to make a lift block for it as the vans brackets were taller so sits up higher. Drivers side didn't have that prob

I put 93-94 GC seats in my 78 J10 and 91 Explorer seats in my 77 J20. Added a piece of angle in the 78 for the driver's seat in the 78 with GW bracket/GC seat on the pass seat. In the 77, used manual GW seat base with the Explorer seats

Those Ford seats look nice..sadly I have none sitting here. I do have the ZJ seats though. A little angle iron I can I handle..on my spring list as soon as I find a buyer for some some of the big parts to get the teardown going..

As the owner of a 93 ZJ I can say there are FAR more comfortable seats out there than those from a ZJ.

I put 93 ZJ seats in my 78, it wasn't too bad. The passenger side was the hardest, took a little engineering with some angle iron and the FSJ brackets (had to take the power seat base off the ZJ seats). The driver's seat was simple, I just used a piece of angle iron for the front mounts, one of the rear holes lined up, and I made another hole with some reinforcement for the other. Plus I got to keep the power seat function for the driver's seat

They look good....what year Explorer seats mount right up? It'd be nice to have seats that recline.....not to mention heated seats

Sorry for takin so long, but I used the GC bases, that is why the passy side is so close to the door. I did as the rest did. One rear hole lined up, new hole for other rear and angle iron for the front. I used the GC bases so I could use both power bases.
I do like the comfort of them.
