2.5T Rockies for 8lug Dana's trade ? or not trade ?

The previous owner of the 82' Honcho wants to switch over to 2.5Ton Rockwells, he wants 2 steer axles and said I could have his 8lug axles in trade if I bought the 2.5 rockies . . .

Trouble is I forgot to ask which truck's 8luggers I would be getting his Honcho Racer or his J4K he is building into a show truck on 44s . . .

Anywho, Trade 2x Rockie steers for a pair of 8lug Dana's ? ? ?

I been trying to get him to toss one his AMC-390s in with the deal

He'd better toss in more than that for 2 steer rockwells.

Unless you have them stacked up like cord wood.

2 steering rockwells ought to bring 1000 bucks.

And his 8-lug stuff (assuming D44 front/D60 rear) are worth maybe 400 bucks.

Well, first things first - are these bona-fide 'top-loader' rockwells? Because some earlier ones came with 'front-loader' axles, and in that case, the front axle rotates 'backward' of normal. And you need to run the proper transfer case if so.

Pictures would help.

The PO of my honcho a friend of 10+yrs found a set pair of steer's if I paid for them he would give me a set of 8luggers.

AMC-390s;
http://www.racingjunk.com/category/1...tor-Parts.html

$295-$525 tho they are just the blocks, but I figured a complete rebuildable 390 and a set of 8lug Dana's would ideal for a set of 2.5T steers . . .
