Cutting D44 Ends Off

I need to cut mine off and re-weld so the caster is correct (pinion rotated due to lift). Does anyone have a link to a video that shows how - and tip on what to do and not to do. I've never tried this before.

Thanks!

Grind the weld off all the way around. Heat the "C" part and not the axle tube, knock it off with your hammer of choice. Worst part is the grinding.

Its time consuming and a PITA, but not really that bad if you have the patience. I try to grind more on the knuckle than the tube. Dont want thin spots in your tube...

There's a great thread or 10 on Pirate4x4. Google rotating knuckle or something. For all the trouble, pay a shop the couple hundred to do it unless you have a good welder the skill to use it.

search results (for Chrome) there's tons of info, looked at this myself last year, think theres a thread buried here in Offroad too.
