AMC J20, you goof ball...

What the crap, mike? I got lots rust laden AMC V-8s sittin' around my yard. One of your shots is a 290 BTW, about the most useless V8 boat-anchor AMC made, I weep for your loss.
I want to see pics of this cross-rammed 390 from your AVATAR sitting inside your J20! or in your AMX or whatever you drive. Is that cross-ram 390 in your avatar even yours???
Or do you just like looking like you have race parts?

Inquiring minds want to see. Fuzzy engine numbers and other people's FSJ pictures can be found easy. Where your stuff?

Forgive us if we seem skeptical but some of us have seen a couple Bob's come in this forum and talk the talk on all kinds of FSJ stuff then turn out to be Trolls.

The 290 is for the little shortbed 2WD Comanche it don't weight nothing so I thought the 290 outta do just fine as a run about.

Nope the Icon pic ain't of my engine I just thought it looked cool I don't have a 390 for the Honcho yet nor have I ever once claimed I did, I simply stated I can find 390s . . .

The 390 shots are take from looking through the suspension of my AMX sitting next to the 290 on the engine stand.

Not really sure what you want from or why ? My photo post ability is a bit limited at this because I don't have computer access at this time.

Sorry I am a bit busy trying to feed the wife n kids while trying to make a dollar spend like ten to go galloping all over my storage unit 60miles from home to take some photos for. YOU !

What do you ? Photos of everything I own ? How about me wife n kiddos ? Wanna see them too ?

The point...

You have a picture of a 390 in your avatar, which by definition means "a representation of you" (We won't get into the theological ramifications here, lets keep it in context)...but its not a picture of YOUR 390;

You have stated you "can get 390s", but you have never built one; How many have you actually gotten? One?

You showed pictures of your AMC stuff only after I hounded you for pictures, and after claiming ownership of your wonderful 390, your AMX, and your J20 which you "posted pictures of", but then said it wasn't yours, but it IS what yours will be like. Your J20 is being built by a race Jeep builder. Pretty snazzy for a guy who can't afford to do anything. I built my own "junk" and NONE of them are Race-prepped, but I don't claim they are either.

Forgive me for being a jerk, but I like to see other guy's cool AMC/Jeep projects, especially when they imply that high performance AMC motors may reside under the hood. See, I have pics of my "junk" posted on JP magazine's site, I used to have a huge gallery full of my Jeep projects at FSJ magazine (before it was lost by Jeep Junkie magazine's tech guys). I have written DIY tech articles for Jeep Junkie magazine...(one of which was an 8-page spread on the build up of my own, backyard-built, 401 powered, 4-door, short-box J20 which is in my own avatar) and each article included many photos.

http://rides.jpmagazine.com/ride/119...kup/index.html This is my J20 4-door.

http://rides.jpmagazine.com/ride/119...kup/index.html This is my J20/10.

So Here's the deal, if you are gonna talk AMC/Jeep performance, tech and projects, you better supply some pics. People like seeing what you are typing about- it is the web, after all. Otherwise, people began to suspect you of being what two people have said you were - a troll.

And No, I don't need to see a picture of you, your wife, or your kids, this isn't a dating site.

Go through the memeber list thers is every thing from drawings to cartoon's. So i am to assume that puppets & drawnings own trucks ?

When i started my memebership none of my photos would fit but that particular one.

You have stated you "can get 390s", but you have never built one; How many have you actually gotten? One?

Can get:
http://www.racingjunk.com/category/1...tor-Parts.html

Have built:

490hp@6,250rpm 492tq@4,500rpm.

I have purchased 5 for resale, Tho currently i only have one in stock which is the one in my 69' AMX that came with the car

You showed pictures of your AMC stuff only after I hounded you for pictures, and after claiming ownership of your wonderful 390, your AMX, and your J20 which you "posted pictures of", but then said it wasn't yours, but it IS what yours will be like. Incorrect information, Truck will be bought from NOT built by.

Because as i stated before it is a royal PITA to usethe internet from my phone ! I wasn't inno hurry to post photos that can be seen else where, photo bucket AMC forum, Heck i got a ton of thread here with photos

The AMX is infact mine here is the Restoration progress needs to be updated :
http://amccars.net/cgi/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1264498087/0

See it's a "junker" my father bought new with the "snazzy" options ordered on it, Not sure where your getting "Race prepped" from but it was set up nicely

I Never once claimed it was the truck i am buying, I belive i posted it as His race truck and mine is the Sister truck. which was done PER his request cause he didn't not feel like going to unburrie my truck.

Likely story

http://rides.jpmagazine.com/ride/119...kup/index.html This is my J20 4-door.

http://rides.jpmagazine.com/ride/119...kup/index.html This is my J20/10.

So othere then your "screen name" being in the artical you got any evidence the "person" is the same human being ? should the need arise ?

So Here's the deal, if you are gonna talk AMC/Jeep performance, tech and projects, you better supply some pics. People like seeing what you are typing about- it is the web, after all. Otherwise, people began to suspect you of being what two people have said you were - a troll.

As i have stated before, i have plenty of threads on here chocked full of photos and write ups

And No, I don't need to see a picture of you, your wife, or your kids, this isn't a dating site.

I hate family photos nothing goes right , but t can be done to prove we are real live people

Maybe it was a mistake to post about the Honcho and plans for it before it was located on my property but i was a bit excited as it was my FSJ

My apologies. I won't speak of the truck any more until its home

KIDS!Can't we all just get along?I enjoy hearing about people's new purchases, and their plans for them.
I have so many projects in the works that I'll probably never get them all done! Currently all I'm able to do is keep the DD'ers running, and manage to sell as many parts as I can to make up the difference between unemployment and real wages, till I get a job again. Wish I had the ambition and energy to knock out a bunch of my projects while I'm unemployed,I have most of the parts needed, just no drive after doing the daily struggle.
I LOVE to see pictures of everyone's stuff,I wish I could figure out how to post pictures of my own stuff up here.I just can't get enough JEEP PORN!
It's just a matter of everyone affording each other the grace that they themselves would like to receive.

Im sorry, but lately i was beginning to wonder if Mike was all talk myself. I get along great with any AMC guy... .....but......Tinkerjeep, you were right, all these claims and no pics to back it up.

390s are easily had around you since you are so close to kenosha, yet you post a 390 sale lead thats in New York..... . 390s are NOT easily had! I know for a fact. My brother had to give $750 for a 390 in pieces in need of TOTAL rebuild for his BBO '69 Mod Javelin. Thats why you see so many 401's in 67-70 amx's/javelins.

I do like that Mike only likes the 67-70 290's, 343's, and 390's..... ....that is cool.

I looked at your AMX project Mike, and i went through similar stuff you're looking to do on my Javelin. My inner rockers were gone. Your car is worse than mine was, but a 2 seater AMX is worth fixing! My brother and i actually regretfully scrapped a '69 AMX about 4 years ago that was rustier than yours but a few years later we realized that it could have been fixed. It was an original 343/4-speed and we used it for parts...

My project.

You can't exactly link to a friend of a friend to his sister ect to find them locally a lot aren't posted for sale . . . I posted said link to show there are plenty of them to be had . . . When I need one I find them ;-)

If my father hadn't of bought the car new I would have most likely crushed it, I pictured the whole car tho there was only a few spots rusted they were rotten fairly bad . . . All is good floors and inner rockers are welded in car is progressing nicely ! Which reminds me I should update that with my progress.

I have posted many links to 390s for sale, Crate motors, used runners, in parts and pieces, and rebuildable cores . . . I can't control how or where I find them . . . One was located in Hawaii ! ! !

Good day ladys

I really appreciate what Elliot just did...This site has been such a godsend for me. Coming from a turn-key wrangler to a '68 Jtruck that is showing me just how much I don't know. The members of this forum have been so inviting, never questioning, and always supportive. Way to be a leader Elliot

Well if i wanted to travel the country or pay outrageous shipping prices to get a 390 in need of a total rebuild...... Wow, you showed me...

I've bought 2 401's in the past year for $300 each that were fairly close to me. You cant touch a 390 for that cheap unless someone that doesnt know what they have is trying to unload a motor from thier garage.

Looks like there are plenty of 390s to be had . . . So all these "they are non- existent" statements are just Hawg wash as you have not properly looked ! ! !

Thanks for the links Elliot, I normally buy mine through person links aka friends n family or I use racing junk .com which I posted above.

Also tough dawg on ebay sells AMC-390s in fully rebuilt n dyno proven turn key crate engines.

Another chunk of advice you wouldn't believe how many "Ford" 390s turn out to be AMCs

The hating started cause I didn't have photos of J-truck, which I clearly posted I wasn't going to be able to pickup until spring time.

I have posted my Comanche build here in the OT section, as well as a link to my AMX restoration . . . Apon my siging up I did an introductory thread where I showed all of my vehicles listed in my sig, few have been sold off since then and I edited my Sig accordingly.

I guess that wasn't proof enough ? . . ?
