Interior Dye

Has anybody tried dying their interior to a different color. I'm going to be changing the color of my wag from red to a tan color (not sure what shade yet). I was just looking for some tips, product info, where to buy it, and pictures of the parts afterwards. I was also going to try the seat belts too.

The only way to do it right - with results that will last is to find all replacement parts in the color your after ...

I have tried the dye method on two rigs and while the inital results looked promising - it did not hold up too long in high use areas such as steering whel and arm rests. you probably could get away with the dash though.

Not exactly true.

You really need to check out SEM products. I used their problems to dye a charcoal air bag cover to med neutral (Tan). It even matched the non painted factory panels. It worked great but you need to use all of the preps they suggest. It's not cheap but it's what the pros use.

Ive had great success with the rustoleum vinyl die. Used it on other vehicles before and am currently changing my wagoneer from cordovan to black, using this product on the dash and door panels. Just follow all the directions

Light to dark works well, but dark to light is a different story, with anything you paint.

I got in touch with these guys http://www.leatherworldtech.com. I told him what I was going to do and he said it would be a problem. The kits are $60.00 for the deluxe kit. He suggested that I fist try it on something I'm not to concerned with for my own testing. He was VERY confident I would be more that happy with the results. Anybody use this product?
