GW made her first trip out into the winter
Well the GW has been worked and poked and prodded for a few months now. Here in colorado you can bet your paycheck that it will snow by halloween. so that was the goal my dad and i had for making the jeep winter ready. We had a lot of work to do. I call it a cheap mans rebuild, but so much elbow grease and hard work went into tearing it down to the block, and rebuilding it from there. All new vac lines, all new coolant hoses, recently recored radiator, rebuilt transmission. we made the date, and even landed a brand new set of snow tires off of craigslist last week. cooper discovery m&s.Yesterday, i got her ready and warmed up and drove to work. (all 3 miles) but the wagon did good. around 3pm it started finally snowing. i took a couple shots. she may not be much to look at but im a proud grand wagoneer owner. by the time work was over, i had a good 5" on the jeep. got her fired up and cranked up the heater. that ran great, only issue was the wipers stopped working there for a minute. but they started back up again.
got home last night, made some adjustments to the carb. it now starts and idles even when super cold outside. now i just need to get the timing set, so the horrible hesitation goes away. and i need to adjust the carb again so when it first starts it has a higher rpm, then when the throttle is blipped it idles normally. i know its the choke step adjustment, just havent gotten back there yet to do it.
