Rear Speaker Location
Hey all,
Just a quick question about where your back speakers are located?
Mine are in the usual spot at the back side panels, though with the movement of gettin the jack and oil, they are always disconnecting.
I have them attached to the side panels themselves, instead of the mounting bracket (the sound wasnt coming through the speaker grill very well.)
Plus they are so far away and pointed in a bad direction to get sound at all.
My fronts sound good though.
Was wondering if anyones modified or moved theres to the roof, or tailgate, or other locations?
Post pics if possible.
Would love to see how and where you have them mounted.
Thanks heaps.
And I apologise if there is already a thread, nothing came up on search.

I use a wedge style speaker box in the cargo area. It seems to over come the back seat to reach the passengers.

I welded an extention onto the 6 inch cone brackets and cut out the template for infinity 6x8 speakers. The grills hold the carpet panels in place which has been falling out of place with those factory fasteners. You can PM me your email address if you want to see pics. I need to Dynamat the quarter panels now to get rid of distortion/tinny. A vast improvement over the aftermarket cones I was running. I have been unable to load pics on this forum

PM sent.
Jaber, my spare tire fills my cargo area, leaving only enough room for a sub (which I will get around to).
I have a brace to put the tire on, but that thing alone weights about 60kg, not sure how many lbs that is, but pretty heavy.
Only use it for long distance driving.

My rears will be moved to the back seat panels in time. One old rear speaker location, behind where my spare will mount (DS), is where the sub is going to go.

bloody great setup there Jaber.
Only problem for me is, I have 2 LPG tanks under there. Plus my jeep has no lift, so its almost impossible to get a setup like that.
Duel fuel can be a pain.

I took out the stock speakers and put 6x9s in the front and rear doors. I still have to make some new custom door panels to finish it out right but haven't gotten around to it yet. I tried to leave the cargo panels in the back open since I like to store equipment in there for now and may try to rig a sub up in the right side panel down the line. It will be fun trying to build a box to the right size and specs with that little area but it will sound good when I get a chance. I am really happy with how the 6x9s sound and cant wait to get my amp installed to get them to full power. I will post some pics down the line when I get the door panels made and installed. I would like to see some pics from anyone that has a nice clean install of subs and different speakers. I am a big fan of keeping everything out to the way to preserve cargo space. Sub boxes suck.
