Back to the future

The continuing saga of the Summit 8600 camshaft led to installing a Holley 2 barrel off a 230 OHC tornado.

I'm sooooo cheap

Any sane person would have gotten a carb kit but not Me, nooooo. I bought individual gaskets and scroungrd parts from around the shop wasting at least half a day but it's driveable now. The cam's not as big a pile as I thaught. A little Holley tuning magic and it idles without loading up and accelerates like mad. The gas milage sucks more than a little bit but with new main jets I'm hoping for 15 hwy. Most motorheads would say the carb is too small but even at govenor shift the vacuum dosn't climb and it's staying rich.

Mehod to go with madness

The fuel and ignition I'm running untill My megasquirt arrives will make an exellent plan "b" to go in the trip tool box. No worries about black box failure here!

Regrettable

I never should have put that cam in so now I'm forced to work around it or park the waggy. This is a lesson from one who should know better!
