Wagoneer Goes to Van Deren Cabin
This was Matthew (15 year old son's), first time on a moderate trail. Both he and the Wagoneer did great.
I didn't get any shots of it going up the rocky ledges, (I was inside acting as a spotter on the right side), but this was a nice shot of it crossing the creek area.
Gorgeous area.

Very nice, and it looks like perfect weather too. It was nice here in the lowlands today too.
I keep telling myself one day I'll sort out my vacuum issues and be 4x4 again so I can take the family on trails like that. I'd really rather put in a mechanical linkage and a stick and get rid of the stupid sucker system.

Thanks! He is so proud if it - he;s worked really hard to get it running and looking good - and this is about as difficult a trail (moderate) as he's interested in going on. This is what my parents got the Wagoneer for all those years ago - to take family Jeep trail trips, and she does them well.
It's a nice drive and the area where the cabin is is really pretty. Of course, when you get to the top, you realize there is a golf course lined with mansions just beyond the ridge - it IS Sedona, after all.....

Very nice looking rig. Kudos to your son. He should be proud of getting her running then hitting the trail.

Cooper Discover STs. They were a nice compromise - decent on the road, decent off the road, and good in snow and ice.

Nice! I've been wanting to do a fullsize Jeep run up in Sedona. This fall would be a perfect time!

Let us know if/when you;re planning a run - we could meet up and chase those little pink Jeeps off the trail.
