Tad - the plates are still attached to sway bar. I was afraid to snap off the studs. You can have it all if it is a 7/8" if you like. Was thinking of using it on the SOA Waggy but the shackle reversal kind of throws off all the angles.

80s plates? I thought they were all the same 74-91?

Start soaking them they'll come off eventually.
'80s are different but can be made to keep the sway bar in an SOA.

BB,
I found a 1" bar in the yard and 2 of the upper bolts, as I thought no good bushings of any type. I'll get it in the trailer either way.
See link above for modifying the plates.

That is true. When I did my SOA on the CAT, I used some 79 (or older) spring plates and that puts the sway bar mount in the right location without having to do anything. Same goes for Vise-Versa, when doing an SOA for and older rig, use the 80 or newer plates.....

I find it simply amazing that one could find a FSJ with 2 people looking under it to see what broke

See you all in about a month.
I hope I can get the D60 under there by then.

oh man... multi threading parts here... likes parts...

got home late tonight - looked at my junk - ok the 88 GWs have 1" sway bar. Never knew that. The 76 is a 7/8" bar. Soaking... What about the smaller plates that stack in there shown in the middle, need that?

Flint,
Not really, I just need 80's style.
Like Jaime said above, no work needed to make the 70's stuff work, they can just be relocated.
The '80's spring plates have the sway bar built into the spring plates.
That's why they need to be cut and flipped to work.
I'll bring you a set, it's easier to visualize when you have a set in you hand.

The one in the picture is off a 76 Cherokee. The 88s are still intact. So I can use the stuff already on my GW? Trying not to be cornfused before java. Jaime's comment threw me. Or am I hearing I should keep these for the soa on my GW?

Bring the '80's ones to 'Cruces and I'll bring you a set already cut and flipped. I use them as cores for folks that can't get the welding done themselves (which has always confused me, how did they get the perches on?).

OK. So the 76 sway bar parts are not needed or wanted Tad?

I don't have 80's style removed from a rig but would be glad to give/send you the ones off Wally when the SOA HD44 from Jaime goes on. So please bring a 80s set if you have 'em.

- multithreading -
Jaime - I have a QT for you. Can you bring the axle to Cruces? I have a 60 for the back now.

It's all good Flint.
I'll bring you a set and you get me the cores when you can.

It's all good. If anyone wants the 7/8" sway bar from a 76 Cherokee pictured in my post above, speak up.

Sambo, you must be my evil twin.
First your jeep and my piranha truck is painted alike...

Then you built a waggy just like I built for my mom.

You don't have a thing for Scottish women, rum and vicks...

uhh... never mind

I guess I'm the evil one.

You are going to bring the bumper to Las Cruces next month from TN?
This is an on site parts trade/swap.

Howdy folks,

I'm looking for tailgate side straps. They are missing from my '76 J-20.

TIA
