got bored sunday and wanted to install my new hood cowl. so i removed the cowl vent area and sanded it down. it had quite a bit of saggy nasty paint.

i think it turned out pretty good.

rejetted down

so today i finally had a minute to tackle the jetting down of my carb

i will now be at position 10 on the edelbrock tuning chart.
also changed out my springs...but i think im gonna go back to what i had. im getting a bad spot in mid throttle.

anyways here is me rejetting.

and stock fuel inlet

and after the inlet. now in my case i had to when the the install was done, face this elbow out the back. this was due to the coil bracket.

truck is doing good. tomorrow i may replace the leaking thermostat housing and replace with the cast iron one i got from bjs and may also replace all the old side marker and parking lenses and housings with the new ones i have.

bjs offroad coolant tank install

so this evening i was bored and figured instead of cracking a beer and watching tv, i grabbed the coolant tank my dad got me for xmas and head down to the local lowes to get the necessary parts for install.

here is where i started:

nasty yellow cracked tank and a poorly routed coolant line

i purchased the following 90degree elbow and brass barb. also bought 2and a half feet of line also. figured make it all shiney and new

was a pretty easy install i have to say.

all done, no leaks. im very happy with this install....next the washer tank i already have on the workbench.

installed new parking light/blinker assemblies and lenses

removed old assembly

new vs old

new vs old

then the new ones broke. poorly constructed. had to resolder both of them back together

drivers side installed

front end is looking nice and shiney. not to bad!

well its been a while since i posted in here. the jeep has sat dormant while i got work lined up and a promotion/raise in order. the nice thing is i will finally have good money to start investing in my jeep.

however like any guy i got distracted by something pretty and with curves. here is the addition to the fleet:
2007 yamaha vstar 1100 classic. a few accessories have been added to it.(hid bixenon headlights, aux power system, fork tackometer, highway bars)

tonight i got my helmet and the bluetooth headset/audio/hands free/intercom installed

thats about all for now. just thought ide update ya as to my absence.

well its been a long while since ive had the motivation to work on the ole jeep. but this thanksgiving weekend, the carpet kit thats been in my closet started tugging at me to install it. so first i had to remove the nasty rotted carpet out first:
here is where i started:

and here is where i finished:

very happy with the condition of the floor pan. couple spots up front but not bad at all. next will be dropping down the ac unit, removing the rotted out kick panels:

and replacing them with the abs plastic ones i have.
and while im there, i will go ahead and clean out the outside air vents, and install my glove compartment also.

for not i have the carpet kit laid out inside the jeep to let the sun bake it a little and relax the creases from the packaging.

dodge

Well this belongs above the previous post. but its what some of my effort and time has gone into lately.

First was fixing my friends S10. the driver side needed some tlc....ok a lot of tlc. but i fixed it like i would fix my own truck.

Next:
My dad bought a single cab short bed dodge from a friends husband. And we had very little time to get it ready for hunting. but we got what was needed done.
fixed an intermitten 4wd light
replaced the oil pressure sensor
replaced the door speakers
replaced the headlamps with higher output.
and my beloved hella 550's got installed(unfortunately not on my jeep)

well tonight i took some elbow grease, dawn soap, and a scotch bright pad to them and was impressed with the results. then my dad produced a stainless steel wire brush from his tool box. and i was amazed at the effectiveness of it. took the spots of rust right off and also cleaned out the grooves really well.

btw the bjs ones are my next purchase for this jeep. but this weekend i have a meet with the local jeep owners for a toys for tots deal. so all my money is going for the toys. yep the needy kids win out over jeep parts anyday in my book.

well today the jeep gods smiled on me. i asked my boss if i could leave early to go work on my jeep, and he said yes. so i ran to home depot spent about $70 and bought the silver insulation for the floor x2, 2 cans of 3m 90 spray adhesive, duct tape and a carpet knife. then called in a favor to get another set of hands to help me today. my goal was to drop the under dash ac and to access the outside air vents and also replace the nasty rotted kick panels. success!

while the AC was dropped and the drivers side kick panel area was apart. i also replaced the broken hood release with a new one ive had for ages, waiting to put it in. About that time we lost light and the temp started dropping. but the good news is that the work didnt stop.

a while back i purchased a burgandy interior that was in great shape. so with the help from my sister (who own a jeep liberty renegade) she helped me strip off all the old material and help me fit the new black pieces onto the boards. the tailgate board was in really bad shape. but about that time my neighbor offered a piece of free masonite...so i traced the old board, cut it out with a jig saw and tried on the carpet for that section.

unfortunately the temp just wasnt gonna help me here, so i called it a night. but i feel good about what got done today. gotta find a way tomorrow to get the pieces sprayed with adhesive and stapled together. i think there is going to be a glue spraying party in the back garage of where i work tomorrow. hey! a jeep's gotta get done!

ok so i was gonna post this last night but fell asleep as i was doing that.
too me 3 full rolls of the water heater insulation stuff. but it got done!

this was halfway done

after 2 trips to home depot i was able to find the right staples and finish the walls. i also painted the speaker grills black(but of course i taped off the jensen sticker

next i had to remake the panel for the tailgate(my jeep never had this panel since ive owned it)

and this is installed. sorry for the blurriness....funny thing is that about how it looked when i was just toast last night
