M-715 fans HURRY!! LOOKIE!!! $1,750 obo for a running truck

I know this is suppose to be in online links but this is too good of a deal to let slip away for those hunting M-715 trucks. Found on another forum:

I am not willing to part out or any trades.

1966 Kaiser Jeep M715 1-1/4 ton Military truck. I acquired this in a trade and need it out of my way. It is pretty much in the condition I got it in.
-SBC (I was told it was a 350) and TH400 automatic. 2wd style transmission with divorced transfer case. I drove it around the block and engine doesn’t smoke and transmission shifts through all gears.
-Dana 70 rear, Dana 60 front with 5.38 gears
-comes with a set of Super Swamper TSL 38x15.5-16’s. I was told they would fit on stock rims at stock height. 2 tires are on the wear bars and 2 are about 50%

What I know it needs:
-rear brakes rebuilt
-new carburetor (throttle shafts seem to be worn out. It will run with the choke throttled) It has a Holley 600 double pumper.
-none of the lights work
-power steering pump installed and some steering linkage work

It cranks, runs and drives.

I have a canvas cab top (no frame or bows) and door glass as well as stock steering column and manual box.

$1750 or best offer

You can always get a "new" bed for it.. lol -- hell, there's a 715 in our local junkyard for sale. Use this one to restore that one perfectly

From someone that lives in the Rustbelt, a M-715 in a junkyard is just wrong.

UGHH...Sorrieeee...I knew that you were from Sunny SoCal.
The someone from the Rustbelt that I was referred to is ME.
So, allow me to rephase this:

Speaking as someone that lives in the Rustbelt, I feel that a M-715 in a junkyard is just wrong.

(Wow...that posting went down the wrong path. )

My mistake, read it wrong. Yeah; It's in the "for sale" part of the yard.. I didn't get a shot of it, but it needs new seats, and a few things under the hood. It has an engine though, and the body is pretty much all there, with most of the black-out lights.. I wish I had got a few photos, as it has more than likely been crushed by now

One of the 'border' yards.. I forget which one. Pick A Part, I think; this is the address:

Brown Field
1180 Heritage Road, San Diego, CA 92154 (619) 661-4554

They also had a white wag. But again, this was a few weeks ago (8/14/10) : [link] to my post in the SoCal section

Wow, someone put a good bit of work into making what appears to be the worst flatbed for an M715 ever. I never really realized (until now) that it is probably mostly the bed that makes the original M715 look as cool as it does.
