finally pics of my j-4000 **parts rig aquired**

OK the rest of the story! so i bought an 82 gmc with a engine knock for $200 i had an extra 350 engine that ran good when i pulled it so i put the engine in the truck and traded for this jeep over all im into it maybe $400 not counting labor.

I knew the previous owner had hit a deer but i didnt think it would be too bad. it was worse than i expected. I knew this truck before he hit the deer and aside from this damage and some surface rust, the rest of the truck is in pretty dang good shape

WARNING! the following images contain graphic material sensitive viewers be advised!

crunch

smash

fender is a bit tweeked

hard to see but totally mangled radiator and fan

shut up and drill!

heres the bed plugs i was talking about in another thread they are for a spare tire rack on J4800 camper special trucks with 1 ton weight rating this is the worst rust on the whole truck as well

sad day for the razor grill but i think i will go to the rhino grill
donations are being accepted

I need a radiator, core support and the rest of the stuff for a rhino grill conversion LMAO will also accept paint primer and any other body work supplies

the core support is mashed in about 4 inches and has several tears in the metal and the (not sure what to call the sheet metal in front of the core support but ill use "face panel" for now) face panel is mangled bad as well. the driver fender is tweeked and the inner fenders are too but not so bad they cant be straightened and saved. the center of the bumper is bent pretty good the ends could be saved but i would like a winch bumper anyway.

Someone with a lot of patience might be able to hammer out the razor grill and save it but it does have several tears as well. The jeep medallion is fine though.

Man alive they used a lot of bolts and screws!!!!

Nice score! Looks like a real clean rig apart from the damage.
While looking at therad pic I noticed that your truck doesn't have a fan shroud either, were they made without shrouds? Or were most just lost during the 20+ it took the trucks to get to 2010?

(sorry for slightly derailing I've been looking for an adequate shroud but I was assuming they came with them from the factory)

That is a pretty nice looking Camper Truck.

It's actually listed as a seperate model from the rest of the Gladiators.

Not too shabby my friend. I was expecting far more damage considering the object that made it. With any luck he was able to load up the offender and get it home unnoticed into a deep freeze.

If you want a winch you'd end up ditching the front bumper anywho, so just chalk it up to motivation! Putting in a new front panel to be ready for your rhino will feel real good and you'll love the look. More motivation! Replacing the core support will be an adventure but nothing too terrible and the tweaked radiator gives you an excuse to get one of the aluminum flea bay radiators that quite a few people have installed just recently with great results. Another taste of motivation!

I dont know if you are catching the theme here. If I remember right UTAH plates are 6 characters long .... I feeling a custom plate will be soon in coming for your truck ~ MOTV8R

I have been trying to find a shell like that to fit our trucks. I finally gave up and built one with a service bed instead....
I would send you $10 for the badge on the grill. Out of 5 razors, I do not have that badge on any of them.
It dont look like there is too much damage. Should be easy to find the parts to get her back on the road. Nice score...

As for fan shrouds, BJ's has them, and if you run A/C, they are a necessity.

You do not want that bed topper. Send me your address and I will personally drive down and remove it from the truck and make sure it never gets in your way again.

Thanks guys. Ok the mirrrors are kinda neat the will turn out and pivot around to make them wider.... I wont be keeping them though. they would be cool on a FSJ tow truck or work truck or something

The previous owner told me that the company had his truck for a week to put that top on.... he also said it was real expencive at $3200. That said im thinking it was custom built for the truck why else would it take a week to put on there its held on with clamps. I think ill keep it lol.

the shroud was busted up there was a chunk of fiberglass like plastic that could only have been some sort of shroud.

Sorry fellas for right now im going to keep the badge. I may still go with another razor grill just depending on what i can find. I have found 2 rhino grills on the local classified but they was in pretty bad shape. Its still up in the air until i find a donor to repair my poor truck.

That is a nice score, when my old J4000 was dads we had it loaded with firewood and went in the ditch into a tree, pushed the cab back so much the drivers door would not open - he hooked a chain over the dent and used a tractor to drag it out of the ditch, then the door worked!
My point is these things have a lot of steel up front, so easy fix for a truck in such nice shape.

I would pay a lot more for a truck in that shape!
